Hi Parents, we all feel isolated and abandoned at times. When kids hit rough patches or NDIS gets tricky, here's our favourite people for helping families get "UN-stuck".
Bianca and Jesse at Flying Fox Camps (For Autism):
They run 15 camps each year and on 40 weekends a year, they are looking after teens and creating great experiences for them. There is no other organisation in Australia that we know of that comes close to the amazing things these guys are doing for kids and teens with Autism. They are in Victoria, but well worth you going for a road-trip to drop your child off to them. They will be expanding all around Australia in the next couple of years. Look them up.
Getting “Unstuck” with NDIS issues - Kim and Tiana at PlanHero:
These guys are one of only about 3 plan managers in Australia is that we would ever recommend because Kim and Tiana are proactive and help people get ready for their plan reviews. Also when NDIS says, "No" to things, these guys work out how to get a "Yes" from NDIS. They have helped so many of our parents get “unstuck”. They cover all Australia – so Google them.
Support Co-ordinators:
Our favorites would be Jamie Taylor and her friends at “Taylored Support Co-ordination”. These guys help a lot of our self-managed NDIS people find things to help their kids. They literally answer every email question that we’ve ever sent them within a couple of hours. Also they are always happy to phone up our parents and have a chat with them and get them the help they need, even people who aren't their own clients. (Google them - covering all of Australia)
Courses for your child (Secret Agent Society, Peers For Teens, Boys Group, Girls Group, Minecraft etc):
Yes, we are here for you at Amazing Skills (Australia-Wide). If there is something we can do to help, let us know. Also if you just want to have a chat with someone who is going to listen and care, give us a call and Naomi or Cherie-Ann and would be happy to help. www.amazingskills.com.au or 0481614517.
Hope this helps,
Michael from Amazing Skills (For Autism).
